Unusual to see it. Despite it's all cutaways, what you said that something just happened not long ago!
More and more transit system are sticking to LF because of economical issues! Where as HF, it will be a rare to see in much future times!

As of April 2009, I have finally rode Nova Classic T-drive, two types of different engine! Which ones is better? Series 50 all the way man!

2011 Charter: Able to manage to attend as there are some good ones to go for!

Today Chris W and I witnessed probably one of the most unprofessional transit systems in our imagination: Brockville Transit. We decided to stop by Brockville as part of our Eastern Ontario trip, mainly focusing on the smaller systems (though OC, STO as well). One of our stops today was Brockville, where we wanted to see if any new buses were delivered.

The first bus that arrived had a friendly driver, who was willing to pose her bus for us (however I was not set up at that time). At that time, I noticed an unmarked Crown Victoria carrying some bus drivers and a supervisor; presumably the changeoff vehicle. As we were waiting for the other buses to pull in, there was a driver coming from the changeoff vehicle who approached us after talking to the supervisor, and told us we need written permission from the City of Brockville to take photos of the buses.

Obviously we didn't buy that, but he decided to block us from taking photos of the other buses coming in. After that, he proceeded saying he can ask his boss to come over and talk to us, and we told him that we want to speak with the supervisor (aka his boss). The supervisor was looking at us for a second, but right after we asked her to come over, she turned back around and got back into the car and didn't come out. The driver then told us it was obvious his boss didn't come to talk to us, because he knows he's right, and he threatened to call the cops on us and says we can't take anymore photos today and told us to delete the photos that we took in Brockville (which I took zero). At around this time, the buses were already starting to leave, and seeing how there was really no point arguing against someone who was unreasonable, we decided to leave, but warned that the city will be expecting a letter in written and email form for us for this unprofessional treatment we got.

Your problem could have ben solved by saying 'alright no problem' and walking off to the street where the bus would exit and take a shot then. From a personal view, knowing that a system only has cutaway vehicles is a place you stay far away from. Last time I took a picture of anything in Brockville (besides a CN train) was when they had real buses running, the Orion I's back in the day.

I am surprised to hear of that happening in Brockville. Personally I would have called the police infront of the driver and told them I was being harassed by a city employee.

Received two reactions while fanning on the YUS today.

While waiting at SCW with a friend for an H5 which I missed at Osgoode, the guard of a TR entering service from the center track asked us if we're getting on. We told him no, and he asked us why not, and my friend told him we were looking for H6s. After he said the H6s didn't run on the YUS, my friend corrected himself and said H5s. The guard said he didn't think there were any H6s left at all, but seeing as he wasn't on the BD it's not his fault for not knowing. Then he waved at us as the train departed.

Literally half a minute later, some guy on the other platform began yelling that we weren't allowed to take photos. He asked if he needed to call security, and we told him to call whoever he likes. A few moments later, a train came in, and we boarded it. The guy on the other platform began to complain to the guard about us, but nothing happened and the train left shortly after.

Alright lets see what I've got from my time in the GTA over the last week:

Negative:

04/24/13 Upon arriving at Clarkson GO via MiWay 103 I took two pictures, one of the bus I just got off, 1018, and then 0521 that was in front. At that point a GO Transit employee, I think he was a maintenance worker as I thought he was checking something on the building, walked over and asked if I had permission to take photos. I said I didn't think permission was needed. He said it was, and that he was sorry about that but with all the stuff that's been going on it's necessary. So I said okay and put my camera back in my case and headed into the station to catch the train. (I just wanted to get photos of those two buses anyways, as the train would be arriving shortly.) If I had thought about it a bit more I would've asked him where I needed to go to get permission to take pictures, but oh well. He certainly was nice about it at least and not confrontational at all.

By the way what is GO Transit's policy on personal photography, if any? All I could find online was the usual: "29.15 - No person shall operate for commercial purposes any camera, video recording device, movie camera or any similar device upon the transit system without the express written permission of GO Transit." (Source)

Positive/Indifferent:

Streetcar operator on 4179 was cool with me taking a photo of the interior and then the outside. Not surprising though I guess as those streetcars are probably a big tourist attraction anyways.

The driver on 7102 was cool with me taking a photo of the interior, and also waited to pull out until I got a photo of the outside of the bus as well.

The driver on Niagara Region 1142 said it was fine to take a photo of the interior.

Not sure if this is really a reaction or just coincidence. While at Richmond Hill I took a few photos of the YRT and VIVA units as I was waiting for Blue. None of the drivers/supervisors that were standing about (shift change) seemed to care. Then after I took some photos about 3-4 different people came up asking me questions about whether they need a one zone or two zone fare

After riding one of the new trains up to Downsview, I wanted to get a photo of the outside. Since the operator was getting off and walking by me anyways I asked if it was okay to take a photo. She replied, "Oh sure go right ahead, people take pictures of the trains all the time." Then as she was walking away she added, "Besides you don't look like any sort of terrorist."
J. Mc - Please watch your step and have a great day

A male with blonde, curly (somewhat long) hair was taking a video of Zum 1069 on the 407 with a camcorder, when the driver told him to put down the camera and he didn't want to be recorded. This led to a heated exchange between the person recording, the driver, and two black males sandwiched in between the person recording and the driver.

When we all got off at York University the driver looked immediately to the rear to see if the male got off, in which he did as fast as possible, muttering something I couldn't hear.
For those keeping track of the YRT repaints see THIS post.
