  1. Hello friends! Yesterday 20701 oldest vehicle of RTL fleet was in FORMATION Today am rush 20721 was spare bus at parc and is currently spare bus at tebr!
  2. Respectfully, this is another conversation altogether. The topic at hand is "Sightings at the Nova Bus factory" and shall remain. A new thread pertaining to Nova in the all vehicles subsection can be opened.
  3. Dear friends, We are now in a position to confirm certain details of our Spring 2024 events. Neither the FHTCQ nor the STS wished to offer vehicles for hire. We are nonetheless pursuing our events with one sole vehicle per day. RTL 2007 Nova LFS Charter Date: Saturday 4 May 2024 Time: 10 am to 2 pm. Participants are urged to arrive on time. Cost: $40. Price may be lowered if the trip is well attended! Start/End Location REDACTED, FOR CONFIRMED PARTICIPANTS ONLY We have requested vehicle 20701 in priority, otherwise, the vehicles requested will be either 20714 or 20703. There will be no lunch stop. Strategic restroom breaks will be planned over the course of the itinerary. The charter is strictly by invitation only. You may propose that someone should be invited to me directly. With the help of our friends at the RTL, we are sure that the trip will be a success. The idea is to bring the bus on a mix of abolished and brand new routes in Montreal and on the South Shore. 8202 Joy Ride - subject to successful inspection by SAAQ Date: Sunday 5 May 2024 Times: AM segment 9 am to 1145 am; 1 hr lunch; PM segment 1245 pm to 445 pm Cost: AM segment $20, PM segment $30, all day $50. All money raised will be given to the 8202 co-owners. Start/End location for AM and PM segments: Carrefour de l'Estrie STS bus terminal within the mall parking lot (the closest intersection is Boulevard de Portland at McCrea). The lunch stop will also be at Carrefour de l'Estrie which offers the greatest selection of restaurants under one roof. These are listed on the mall website: https://carrefourdelestrie.com/boutiques-par-categorie/nourriture-boissons Plenty of free parking is available on the premises. 8202 special notice: there is a very slim chance that the vehicle may not be prepared in time for the event, in which case the joy ride will be cancelled since no backup vehicle will be available. Everyone will be informed should this unfortunate situation arise. Due to the potential of a setback, the joy ride management would like to discourage participants from seeking hotel accommodations in Sherbrooke. Since this is a fundraising activity, the joy ride is open to the public. You may propose that someone should be invited to me directly. With the help of the co-owners of 8202, we are sure that the trip will be a success. We will honour the heritage of this vehicle by visiting all corners of Sherbrooke throughout the course of the day. Important notices for both events: Please do not ask me for plans after this activity with regard to dining or other buses in the city. I will not be organising them. Thanks for confirming your attendance by replying immediately. A signed waiver is required before boarding the vehicle (see attached pdf). Please note that, as always, management reserves the right to restrict and/or refuse admission. With my best wishes, Shanake Mario Seneviratne President, YUL Bus Charters Waiver Spring 2024.pdf
  4. One of the REM spare buses at Panama this morning is 20719. I drove it on a tripper of 46. The driver of the run was delayed by the train tracks on his 47 on ch des Prairies. Yesterday I had the oldest vehicle in the fleet 20701 (also spare REM Panama) and aside from a disconcerting rattle above the driver's seat, the bus performed pretty well.
  5. Hey guys, I took my lunch at GALO and just verified the buses parked around back. My list is exactly what there was almost two months ago behind, so nothing has changed. I did not enter the vehicles, so I do not know if they still have fare box and fare validating equipment inside. Some are missing mirrors, but they still have their license plates. East to west, they are the following: 20825, 20908, 20918, 20801, 20504, 20929, 20803, 20537, 20826, 20505, 20502, 20524, 20511, 20519, 20910, 20516, 20529, 20514.
  6. Spring 2024 activities:
  7. Dear friends, Save the dates! In honour of the Réseau de transport de Longueuil (RTL)'s 50th anniversary this year, we are endeavouring to offer several fan trips this year featuring RTL buses across the province of Quebec. We would like to propose the following activities for the first weekend of May, which is our typical charter weekend, and (hopefully) featuring special appearances by GMC New Look buses: Saturday 4 May 2024 in Longueuil, QC: Réseau de transport de Longueuil 2007 Nova LFS with preference given to 20701 + FHTCQ 1972 GMC New Look 14-008 (ex-CTCUM 14-008) Duration: Four (4) hour event (hours to be confirmed but in the area of 1030 am to 230 pm). No lunch stop! Cost: $50 (volunteer RTL rate + very reasonable quote from FHTCQ) Start/End location: unveiled to charter participants only, within the agglomeration of Longueuil Special notes for 14-008: there may be a capacity limit on the day of the event. No standees will be permitted aboard the vehicle at any time. Given that the FHTCQ is a non-profit organisation, please do not blame charter organizers if 14-008 is not available. YUL Bus Charters does not assume any liability for no-shows. Sunday 5 May 2024 in Sherbrooke, QC: Société de transport de Sherbrooke 2005 Nova LFS with preference given to 55105 (ex-RTL 20501) + privately owned 1982 GMC New Look 8202 (ex-STO 8202 exx-CMTS 32105), the latter vehicle celebrating 15 years in private hands (2009-2024) Duration: Four (4) hour event (hours to be confirmed but in the area of 100 pm to 500 pm). No lunch stop, obviously! Cost: $60 (must factor in the relatively higher cost of doing business with STS + fuel surcharge for deadheading 8202 from its base in Trois-Rivières) Start/End location: unveiled to charter participants only, within the city of Sherbrooke Optional joy ride with 8202 to take place the morning of the event (approximately 900 am to 1245 pm), which will factor in a reasonable lunch stop (45-60 min) with many options available. The cost of this joy ride will be independent of the main event ($20). Given that the nature of the joy ride is a privately owned vehicle, please do not blame charter organizers if 8202 is not available. YUL Bus Charters does not assume any liability for no-shows. Please take note that at the moment these events are strictly by invitation only. You may propose that someone should be invited to me directly. With the help of our friend Félix Parent-Rocheleau who will operate both New Look buses, we are sure that these trips will be a success. There will be many side by side photo opportunities during the fan trip, including with revenue service vehicles. Please do not ask me for plans after this activity with regard to dining out. I will not be organising them. The question will be ignored. A subsequent email will be sent finalizing all details, at which point you will be able to indicate your attendance. A signed waiver is required before boarding the vehicle (pdf to follow). Finally, please note that, as always, management reserves the right to restrict and/or refuse admission. All information above is subject to change. Due to the proposed participation of private vehicles, no weekend passes will be offered. We are doing our utmost to keep costs low. If there is a way to reduce costs, count on us to do so. With my best wishes, SMS President, YUL Bus Charters yulbuscharters at gmail dot com PS stay tuned for an activity featuring an ex-RTL Nova LFS in Saguenay, QC around Labour Day Weekend! More information to come by the end of July 2024.
  8. I've been asked to contribute photos. Latest allocations at GASH (this dates to about a week): 2017 and less parked in Garage 2 - Satellite. 2013s have once more become limited buses. 2018 and above parked in Garage 1 - Grande-Allée. All off peak bus sorties must come out of Garage 1 without exception. Further rebalancing between series between GASH and GALO to follow, right now there is a lot of speculation. I prefer to wait until it becomes official.
  9. Many questions asked by Georges are answered in the book 100 ans de bus à Montréal by Benoit Clairoux et al; thanks webfil for taking a stab at answering the questions. Good luck finding the book, if you can - I believe that it is out of print.
  10. That tunnel under Park Ave was the original REM to Mirabel.
  11. The latest sign update 2024/03/01 corrects many errors. TCV routes as well as certain abolished routes (I've successfully tested 35, 39, 45, and 90) are available but hidden. There are new errors. I will give everyone the chance to find them.
  12. Indeed, 20701 is the oldest vehicle currently in revenue service at RTL.
  13. I can't remember if I elucidated it elsewhere, but GALO is having difficulty assigning accessible buses to accessible routes with the new inter-garage scheme effective 1 January 2024. (This is neither here nor there, but 20721 was assigned to the 3 this morning; no complaints were issued by myself, my trainee, and our passengers.) 20811 = 2008, 20917 = 2009.
