The original idea was to simply do N&W and SR paint schemes however that has changed. The predecessor railroads that are being considered for NS heritage paint are: Central of Georgia, Conrail, Erie, Erie Lackawanna, Lehigh Valley, New Haven, New York Central, Nickel Plate Road, Norfolk & Western, Penn Central, Pennsylvania, Reading, Savannah & Atlanta, Southern Railway, Tennessee, Alabama & Georgia, Virginian, Pittsburgh & West Virginia, and the Wabash.
Other paint schemes that are being considered include: the original Norfolk and Southern RR and Central New Jersey

What, you mean like CP's 7312 or 3084? As for CN, they don't really have that many paint schemes to choose from, and considering that they've been using the same basic paint scheme for the past 51 years....

For CN you can still have the classic green and some of the variances of the basic scheme over the past 51 years. Also include roads that CN has taken over the years.
Also for CP include the roads taken over the years as well.

What railroads? Besides DMIR, IC (sorta), ACR and WI, there really aren't that many choices. Thus my comment.

Oh, absolutely. But again, not that many to choose from. Certainly nowhere near as many to choose from as NS or UP.

I purposely left out those divisions because they used - in most cases - the same schemes as CN did. A change of lettering on a green, black and gold/yellow loco isn't going to make much of a difference once it is green, black and gold/yellow.

Yeah, but there has been a lot within the CN family, like the GT, CV, DW&P... It would be neat to see some old hearlds on new equipment.
As for CP, I forgot about their heritage units :/

Anyway the point I was trying to make is that there isn't that many roads that became part of CN in the past, so yes there is no point in painting them.
