Heys looking for old pictures of Metro Transit, Halifax transit, Dartmouth Transit and before. Look for pictures pre 90s. Would like to get permission to use them as our local union here would like make a 100 years book. This has been done in other cities across NA. I would imagine that all credit would be noted in the boom as to who took them. If you can be of any help please PM me.

Also we are looking or high res pics

The Bus History Association might be able to help out with that request! Their book about the NSLP system entitled Halifax City of Trolleycoaches is a fantastic book with a lot of great pictures.

But there seems to be a definite vacuum of photographs (at least online) in the Dartmouth and Halifax Transit days of the 70s.

Wonder if Peter Cox had any photos of 1970s Halifax. From what I've seen on the internet, he was alot of 1960s-1980s pictures of Winnipeg, Calgary and Edmonton Transit...
*will make a new signature eventually* :)

You should check with Paul Leger, Chairman of the Bus History Association. He would have a lot of old photos of Halifax equipment as he has been taking photos of Halifax buses for nearly 50 years. Metro Transit has used his photos in the past and I know that he knows the Union President, so he may have already been contacted.

In the meantime, here is a shot of Metro Transit 135, ex-Dartmouth Transit, taken at the old Dartmouth garage in April of 1980. The photo was taken by my father..

Actually, at that point the old looks may have been in storage. I don't know if they ever actually operated for Metro Transit.

They were ex-OC Transpo buses that were bought by the old Dartmouth Transit. I believe they bought 5 which lasted a few years.

I don't think he visit Halifax during those old days at anytime!
More and more transit system are sticking to LF because of economical issues! Where as HF, it will be a rare to see in much future times!

As of April 2009, I have finally rode Nova Classic T-drive, two types of different engine! Which ones is better? Series 50 all the way man!

2011 Charter: Able to manage to attend as there are some good ones to go for!

Dartmouth Transit also ordered new gasoline-powered Old Looks from GMC all the way up until 1969, the last year they were built. They didn't start ordering New Looks until they had no other choice!
