Apparently they were one of the last properties running AMG's.

Minot has 3 1977 9635B from AMG left in service they are used on school trippers in the morning and afternoon. Their fixed route fleet consists of goshen coaches. 2 AMG's are used for parts buses.

Minot has taken delivery of two ElDorado EZ-Rider MAX buses and according to the article the 1977 AM Generals are still in service:

Damn! Anyone have recent pics of these AM Generals in service? I thought these things were all long dead by now.

One thing I find hard to believe is that the article states these new buses (ElDoardo EZ Rider II MAX) are designed to last for 20 years. The ElDorado EZ Rider II is considered a medium-duty bus, which has a 10 year lifespan by FTA guidelines. Even current heavy-duty buses aren't designed to last 20 years, they have a 12 year lifespan by FTA guidelines.

That bus looks ALOT like an D800. Who agree's with me on this one?
In a fleet ranging from 1990 D40s, to 1994 D40LFs, to 1996 D30LFs, to 2002 D40is, to 2012 D40LFRs with electric buses and artics coming! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Flyer adopted the AMG design. More info is available if you google it as well as checking the WIKI on this board.

Peter and were in Minot today. We were fortunate to see the AM General buses, all 6 of them. 1016 and 1017 were in the garage being used as spare buses. They are now using rear engine school bus type transits for their school runs so the AMG buses only go out when those buses are out of service. 1015 is still running but is in storage. 1014 may or may not be running. 1012 and 1013 are retired and being used for parts.

1005 and 1006 are fairly recent Eldorado National Ez Rider II buses used for fixed route service.

Not related to AM General buses but this story says that Minot Transit has doubled their adult ridership this year compared to the same period last year! No doubt that is mostly because of the boom times in Western North Dakota.

They are looking to a consultant firm to help improve and grow the current system.
