And Nowhere is NOTL included in this whole plan. For real? Makes sense to leave out one of the nicest places in the Niagara Region, doesn't it?

Not to mention it will take 45 minutes to get to the Falls...

Speaking of horrible, that new Regional paint scheme is horrible. I hope the three companies are allowed to keep their own identity and only have to put the regional route buses in that horrible scheme.

I can't agree no more, how can they "design" such a horrible scheme? it's just like the kids putting on stickers on their hot wheels and that's it......holy smoke i rather them keeping the bus ALL WHITE like most of the CIT systems did...............that scheme can't be worse.......!

NOTL is generally not that friendly to buses, especially intercity coaches that have to drop their passengers off just outside of town to transfer to one of the town cutaways. My guess would be that NOTL did not want the service.

I am going to have to get down there early to get pictures. I am not sure how long this system will last with a $5/$6 fare and it does not service the educational facilities. For example, it stops at the Niagara Region headquarters but not Brock U.

Also, is it just me or does it mention how many days a week it operates? Is it 5, 6 or 7? Also, what date does it start?

We can take this with a grain of salt, but Wikipedia claims its a Monday to Saturday service.

I don't know a start date, but one of the Welland garage personnel had told me "September".

I took a quick look at the routing page, its showing scheduled service on August 31st (today), as well as no service on Sundays or on Labour Day. (Except for Niagara Falls - Fort Erie service)

I'm seeing the start date as September 27th.

I also see two routes serving Brock U, so either you overlooked or it was updated after you saw it initially.

The stop is shown on the south side of St David's Road which is the Regional Offices. Technically, it comes close to Brock but it does not go to the Brock transit hub. If you are that close, why not go there rather than looping at the Regional offices?

They have updated the map though because now the Fort Erie route goes all the way to Thorald Stone Road which it did not do before.

What I am curious about are all of the "regional buses" going to be all over the place, being at each of the 3 garages?
So, 3 XD40s, 3 Orion VII NGs and two (?) D40LFRs from St. Catharines, Niagara Falls and Welland Transits respectively. I guess that means those different models could be seen in all three cities.

I don't think Welland's order has come in yet, or at least nobody knows what they will be. When we were at the garage for the Welland charter in May there were no details other than 2 new buses would be ordered for regional. I wonder if Niagara Falls and Welland will need to rebrand some of their buses considering the Fort Erie Job Bus and the Port Colborne Link are now classified as 'Regional'.

Looking at the runs each agency should have 3 regional buses (2 in service, 1 spare) and each agency operates one of the 2 buses on each pair of routes (for example, Welland would run one bus on 60/65 and one bus on 70/75). Each route starts and ends at the same time at each end. Each bus would complete 7 round trips between 7am and 9pm, and start and end in the same city. So the buses should remain with their home agency (aka we shouldn't see any XD40s stored at Niagara Falls garage anytime soon).

I saw a photo of one of the Orion VII NG's. It looks like they buckled a ZF transmission. Can anyone confirm?

When some of us took a look inside the bus after the TTS Charter, we determined it's a Voith transmission.

I've been checking in on the NRT website and it seemed to change each day last week. At one point it said service started Sep. 27th. As of now it says service starts "mid September". The map went up, then changed, and has now disappeared. I see also that the "Fort Erie Link" route is no longer listed with the other NRT routes. Things seem to be "evolving" quite late for a launch in a couple of weeks...

Niagara Falls Transit's VIIs have been put into the NRT livery as of last weekend. Although still incredibly bland, IMO looks better than the XD40s probably due to the extra black around the windows.

So St. Catharines is running the entire 50/55 route? The way the schedules are set up, that is quite a useless arrangement...

Why did they give different numbers to the same route depending on the direction of travel?
