Something else I regret is not taking more pictures of things when Mount Dennis garage opened for Doors Open Toronto 2010. All I got pictures of were Classic 6223, Orion V 7101, Nova RTS 7200, the buses on the lifts, Hybrid 1628 in the body shop and toy story wrapped fishbowl 2252 alongside 2289 and 2292 while waiting for the bus wash bus. Looking at videos of the event on Youtube, I found that I could've gotten pictures of New Looks 2265 and 2297 (one of my personal favorites) in the body shop, not to mention all the other buses that were on display. Clearly, there was something wrong with me at the time. Argh!

I would have loved to have been in this world back in the '50s and 60s when the sreetcars were still running until 1959 and the start of the Métro in 1966. Macks, Old Looks, Brills, first New Looks. Man, what an era. :P

Not being able to visit the AMTUIR museum back in '07 when I went to Paris on my honeymoon, when they were moving from Colombes to Chelles...

Another regret I have is not getting a camera that could actually film sooner. I got a new camera in December 2010 but if I got it just a year earlier I could have filmed the 91' Orion V's and some fishbowls rides on routes other than the 52 or 59.

Sorry to bump the thread, but I figure it's better than starting a new one.

Something else I regret is not taking pictures of any of the Orion VIIs that were assigned to the St Clair West - Hillcrest shuttle when they were displaying the new LRV mockup. One of them STOPPED, on Bathurst Street, RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME, signed up for the shuttle, and I could have taken a picture of it, but I didn't! I obviously have not learned squat since the Classic incident!

I also hate how I only decided now to start getting pictures of the Orion Vs (both series) when I've had over 3 years to do so (during which time they were still common on any routes). I have a few pictures of the buses at York Mills/St Clair West stations, but that's a precious little amount. And now their retirement (unless I'm much mistaken) looms in the near future. Better start grabbing those opportunities before it's too late.

I didn't get into transitfanning until the fall of 2001, which was my 4th year at McMaster. If I'd started when I'd moved to Hamilton, I'd have gotten photos of the Yellow & Black HSR GM buses still in service, and more of the GM Artics.

Regrets... well, how about the fact that I only just recently got into the idea of learning more about transit (both the vehicles and the operations) and taking transit photos? I always "liked buses and trains", back to when I was a kid, but for some reason it wasn't until within the last couple months that I really began trying to learn more (and began snapping photos). So I'm kind of coming in late, haha.

That said, I generally like modern vehicles just as much as (if not more than) older ones, so I don't really feel like I'm "missing out" in that way, for the most part. Though I DO wish I'd been into taking photos years ago, when AC Transit still had tons of Gillig Phantoms and New Flyer D40's running around!

And while I'm here: hello fellow transit geeks! There doesn't seem to be any kind of Introductions forum, so I figured I'd just say hello while making this post. :)

My regrets? How about never riding a Classic even tho' you had all the time in the world. When I finally decided to go ride one, Santa Monica had just retired them.

Let's see here:

- I wish I started photography in Summer 2001 because there was an TTC 8058 charter. I really wanted to go, but I didn't have a camera back then.
- No Orion III's pics or videos because I started photography sometime in May 2003, and they were all retired in June.
- No ride video of the D40-90's. I was thinking to do a video, but I changed my mind.
- Only 1 94xx CNG video. I wish I had a bit more but they weren't my priority at that time.
- No pic of CLRV 4063. It was there during the 2008 Doors Open, never had a chance to photograph it.
- Wasn't able to get a pic of PCC 4500 during Doors Open last year because kids and other people were in the way. It should be there for this year's event.

That's about it for me.

Missed out three times on the KMB hot dogs today. Right when I was waiting for one of them to come back, the sky decided to crash on me so I had to bail out. Right when I boarded the bus out, the rain stopped.
For those keeping track of the YRT repaints see THIS post.

My biggest regret is not going out to ride and photograph the TTC's GM Fishbowls on their final day in service. I don't know how I haven't mentioned that in this thread yet...

The buses were out all freaking day (and for the first two hours of the next day also), but I didn't get to photograph or ride any at any point. Oh, how I was wishing I had a driver's license. :( I did, however, suffer a poor day at school. JOY! Few things I regret as much as the events of that day.

I also hate when I get on a bus and think to do a ride video, but then I change my mind. I don't know why I keep doing that, but I do. Most recently I did that with ex-CNG 9416 <_<

So many missed moments. 2006 was a year I wish I could go back.

My High School Grad Nigth in 2006 when students went to Disneyland.

Summer 2006 in Mexico. Tijuana > Monterrey > Leon. I step foot on 3 different airports & even rode on a airport shuttle bus.

Starting college in Fall 2006. I took the bus because I live nearby. Omnitrans had its 30th anniversary. The RTS, Thomas SLF, & Neoplan were assigned to the eastern sector.

I got that bus on audio for my cummins M11 project for OMSI.
My bigges regret is not taking a picture of 5796 when it was a lead car.

I did have regrets (such as not completing the stop information on the wiki before the September 4th massacre OC did to most of our routes which took out of service quite a large number of stops), but now I have found that information so I am not worried about that no more.

Luckily I did get into it at the right time for OC Transpo though maybe one or two years earlier would of been nicer, but I kinda wish I knew how to actually take a proper sun angled photo back then. As I didn't really master that until 2009, which was too late since most of our good buses were gone by then. That is the only regret I have for transit fanning.

I regret not riding the (7) train while I was in New York last month. Next time I can visit, the R62As and railfan windows will most likely have been displaced by the R188s. :(

I was interested in transit when I was a kid, but during my teenage years when I had a bunch of other stuff going on, I didn't notice that they pretty much retired, scrapped and made into soda cans, every single one of these, the first bus i EVER remember :( :

That I didn't get into transit until 1999...thus, I never saw the "old" Deux-Montagnes line, or its significance!

That certain times when I went to London, I didn't make a point of riding more Routemaster buses, since, despite one short period when the mayor insisted on bringing them onto as many lines as possible, they're all but gone now.
