  1. That hasn't been the case since 2020. The artic trolley routes have taken the most hits from the service reallocation over the last few years, so there are enough artics to cover all route 10 blocks. Looking at the block history, 2110 was on the 17 that went out of service around 830pm when it was used to replace 2565.
  2. Most of them wound up covering the 3 and 8 for Vaisakhi detours.
  3. The side sign, rear sign and front Compass reader were all non functional when I rode it.
  4. After over three years off the road (last ran November 30, 2020), 2106 returned to service on the 7 today.
  5. SB detours on the Granville Bridge began today, with all service jogging over on Davie to Howe, then heading south to the bridge. The SB wire on Granville has been removed from Drake to where the Howe St on ramp merges onto the bridge. The wire setup is interesting; the SB Howe wire has been routed onto the Granville/inner wire where the on ramp merges onto the main bridge. The remaining SB Howe/outer wire is tied off at this point, then proceeds normally over the bridge to the merge at the south end. This may change soon; when I was on the bridge the overhead crews had just arrived, and may be removing the inaccessible SB wire off, leaving only a single wire just as they did NB.
  6. After last tracking on TComm on Dec 30, 7443 showed up on the road yesterday, albeit on a training run.
  7. Some major modifications to the overhead has occurred due to construction on the Granville Bridge. The NB Granville wire has been removed from 5th Ave to Drake St, leaving only the Seymour wire. All NB service is being routed via the Seymour off ramp, then jogging back to Granville via Davie St. In addition, the switch just north of 5th Ave has been modified so that the straight/coast direction which previously went to the Granville wire now connects to the Seymour wire, while the right turn/power direction that used to lead to Seymour is now a dead end. It is quite odd to see only a single set of wires NB on the Granville Bridge.
  8. https://buzzer.translink.ca/2021/11/what-happened-to-the-mark-v/ The Buzzer Blog posted an explanation of this years ago. Some things have changed since then, most notably the cars getting numbers in the 6000's instead of 500's. Suffice it to say the fleet number is not automatically indicative of the model number.
  9. Since this rumor refuses to die, let me restate was has been said about it numerous times over the years. A/C was not standard on Translink buses before the 2012 Xcelsior orders. The Orion V's got A/C as part of their premium features for the highway runs. The LFR trolleys, as well as any other bus order from before. 2012 were NOT delivered with A/C. No buses have had A/C removed because it failed/didn't work/was too expensive/Translink is evil/whatever rationale people think up. They never has the system in the first place.
  10. Because 18330 has extra equipment and wiring installed for the lights and audio equipment when it runs as Rudolph every December. This equipment is useful for when a bus is transporting bigwigs and dignitaries for P/R events, so 18330 is Translink's unofficial special event bus, and tends to get the special non advertising wraps more often than other units.
  11. Because the 2 went artic and the 240 was switched to all 40 footers, VTC took 21000 XDE60's back from BTC, which displaced some of the older Nova HEV's to RTC, which sent Nova diesels to BTC. The older Nova hybrids would have severe performance issue going up the North Vancouver hills, so Translink wouldn't want them at BTC.
  12. Looking at TComm, Translink needs to implement a snow day detour for the 49 in Kerrisdale. Currently, almost all the 49's are stuck on 49th Ave between SW Marine Dr and Vine St. In the last snow fall, the 49's also all get stuck and piled up in the same location. There should be a snow day detour that the 49 will divert via 41 Ave and West Blvd.
  13. 18330 is still decorated and out on the 15/50 tonight.
  14. Massive delays on the 10, 17 and 100 as the Arthur Liang Bridge is congested with people heading to the outlet mall, and that has spilled over onto Marine Dr. 10 and 17 are terminating at Marpole loop, 100 has started terminating at Marine Dr Stn
