The Niagara rail service runs weekends and holidays from Victoria Day through to Thanksgiving. Given the weather we've had this spring, they could have started as early as Easter. I think due to the variation in dates for Easter they probably opted for a more consistent Victoria Day.

In other news, it does look like the warm winter has sped up construction of the new parking structure at Erindale GO station.

Work continues on Mississauga, Ontario commuter parking garage

Construction is expected to wrap up in May 2013 instead of October. GO's station update says Summer 2013. How much prep work is required between the end of construction and opening? Granted, it could mean late May and early June which would leave next to no overlap.
That explains why Megabus having a crazy ass seat sale from Toronto to Niagara Falls and Buffalo!

You know, just adding "IN KITCHENER" would have eliminated the need for anyone to Google anything...

Basic clarity in communication people. If I posted "GO bought out that TTC parking lot for a new regional transit hub they're opening in 2015", people would be wondering where the heck in Toronto it was.

A-ha. Maybe this has something to do with why Greyhound set up a ticket shack in downtown Kitchener. Greyhound initially had a ticket office in the downtown terminal. A couple of years ago they pulled out all sales from downtown entirely and built an inflatable bus in a park-and-ride Sportsworld lot for ticket sales, though they backtracked and set up a roving ticket agent in the downtown terminal.

Perhaps Greyhound is mostly pulling out of Kitchener, and GO is taking over? One can hope.

Good god that is ugly. Though I doubt Greyhound is pulling out of Kitchener, when last regularly took that bus (granted this was about a year and a half ago), they were still regularly running 2-3 extra sections on Friday evening runs with all the students going home despite the addition of GO. If anything GO has probably impacted the student union buses more than Greyhound.

They've done both. People do take the GO bus to Toronto, even with a transfer at Square One. GO has (or should have) a definite interest in the "Kitchener Line" market, and it's possible that they are striking some kind of deal with Greyhound.

Why would they put a temporary ticket booth in the middle of the bus lanes, when there is all that space inside the Charles Street terminal?

The space inside has probably been gobbled up in the meantime. But perhaps another reason is that it may be intended as temporary.

What with? Used to be tons of space in the new terminal compared to the old Duke Street terminal that had no problem with counter space. From the size of the portable, you only need a corner somewhere.

Used to spend a lot of time there ... but perhaps only about 60 seconds in the last decade, walking from a Greyhound bus to a number 7.

Something is very wrong on several levels, if Region of Waterloo is charging so much rent, that Greyhound won't pay it, and yet is then allowed to park a portable ticket office in the middle of the bus lane!

I have no idea whether this explains it, but some of the weirdness at the downtown Kitchener terminal is because it's actually owned by the City of Kitchener.

This relationship between Greyhound and the City has gone very weird!

So according to East New York (Dante), the GO Transit roaster CPTDB Wiki is incorrect and that GO has D4500CTs with DD11s. While I doubt the validity of the statement (or anything off that board for that matter), does anyone know anything about these supposed D4500CTs with DD11s?
