Any updates on H6s ? Never heard any recent news about them. Are any retired yet and if so how many?

Yes, some of the H6s have been retired. Here's a link to the H6 retirement thread: http://www.cptdb.ca/...opic=14157&st=0

The info should be on post #3.

Why dont they retire the H4's first and move the H5's to the Bloor line? I dont understand. The H5's are still in okay shape, but suspension systems bottom out, and the AC doesnt work very well, but a bit of fixing up should keep them in service for a while.

Well if they move the H5s, the H6s would have to be moved to the Sheppard line, which would cause confusion with the T1s and TRs, though I do like your idea. ^_^

Anyone know when the H6s retire? I believe only 3-5 sets are left, making it 18, 24 or 30. I wonder if my favourite car '5933' will be in the charter.

H5's are all removed from TTC property. 2 cars at a movie studio in Toronto and 75 of them are being stored in Buffalo NY that are now getting rebuilt and shipped over to EKO Rail in Lagos, Nigeria, Africa. The rest are scrapped.

H6's will be retired shortly if the trend continues ALL of them being sent to a scrap with no chances of any being saved for EKO Rail.

According to another source (skyscrapercity forums), EKO Rail will be acquiring new rolling stock from China to supplement the used H5s.

A good question would be where the H6's are going for scrap now, since Future Enterprises in Hamilton has closed up its operation not too long ago...

They could be storing it. TTC put out a for sale on there site for the H5s, So they have to get rid of the H5s before they can think of getting rid of the H6s

I've heard they've been going to somewhere in Brampton. However, I don't know the location.

Saw this at Yonge and Elm an hour ago.  Looks like they were using it to film something.

Interestingly how this shows that 5824 is not retired on the wiki. But since you got a picture of it now I might as well update it to Retired. By any chance do you know what movie this is going to be featured in?

There aren't many scrap places in Brampton....the only scrap / recycling facility there I'm aware of that would be large enough to handle them would be Triple M Metal off Intermodal Drive.

Future Enterprises is still in business. They just lost their lease at the old place on Strathearne. They have relocated to a new location on Hamilton Mountain but at this point, they do not appear too anxious to publicize the location.

They've done rail equipment and large trucks, but I have never seen buses there.

They also do not appreciate visitors.

The most logical date would be June 20 since it's the last weekday before the summer board period and the number of peak trains is reduced on the BD.

The train you were on was probably 5898-5899-5909-5908-5925-5924.
