While I no longer live in the Albuquerque area, I will never turn my back on ABQ RIDE. So, I decided to do a poll for ABQ RIDE's next bus order.

Please tell me what your responses are in a reply.

Here are my responses:

What buses in the ABQ RIDE fleet should be replaced? - Both 300s and 400s.

What should be the propulsion type of the next order? - Diesel-electric hybrid.

What brand should the next bus order be? New Flyer

Also, as a bonus, what would be a better number series: 200 or 1200?

I prefer 1200, as the "12" can indicate 2012. The "200" series designation was previously assigned to the 35-foot 1989 TMC RTS buses, which were retired in 2008. Both would work, although 1200 seems to make it seem like the bus fleet is advancing, rather than recycling old designations.

BTW: Whoever just voted, please tell me your choices in a reply, in addition to voting (current forum software doesn't support public polls).

What buses in the ABQ RIDE fleet should be replaced? SLFs

What should be the propulsion type of the next order? Diesel

What brand should the next bus order be? New Flyer

I was only down there once but I did get to see enough of them. I personally don't like the SLFs

Of course, most of the SLFs have already been parked in favor of the 900-series New Flyer DE40LFRs, which entered service in 2009. However, there are still some routes where the 400s are still used, such as the 40 D-Ride (which uses them exclusively) and the 1 Juan Tabo (which usually runs with at least one SLF alongside Neoplans).

Aside from the D-Ride and Rapid Ride, pretty much every route sees at least one 40-foot bus (300-series Neoplans, or 700 or 900-series New Flyers). Strangely, it seems most of the lesser-used routes use the Neoplans (which hold more seats than the New Flyers due to their HF configuration).
