For Toronto area transit fans, Air Canada has a seat sale on today only. It is 25% of regular fares which results in $ 127 one way from Toronto to Halifax on the weekend of May 26th. There are flights from Pearson that are direct. Flights are also available from Toronto Island that require one transfer for the same $ 127 price.

EDIT: In the Saturday Sun, Porter announced a 50% off sale for most flights. Toronto to Halifax for only $ 92 one way. The sale only goes until February 3rd, for travel up to and including May 31. Promo code: JAN50

I received a e-mail from Porter that they are having a 50% off sale until Feb 3rd for flights until May 31st. I think I will take advantage of the deal and probably register for the charter this week.

With taxes you can get a round trip flight for about $367 with taxes and all fees with Porter

Air Canada is having a 50% seat sale right now. It's around $80-90 one way. I just booked my flight! $293 tax-in!

Sales ends Friday, Feb 3... although knowing AC they might extend the sale but who knows.

I don't see this sale. Prices are still between $159 and $169 one way.

Is there still plenty of spots available for this MCI Classic artic charter? When is the deadline? I am still trying to get my work to approve the vacation time for this trip. I will then use my Star Alliance miles to fly Air Canada to YHZ.

Also, would like like to go see Nova RTS in New Brunswick during this trip, but this will be my personaly trip.

There are still plenty of seats left. The Halifax artics have a capacity of either 69 (701-707) or 71 (708-714). The second series are the ones with the single width rear doors which is why they have more seats.

We have not decided on what the cutoff point will be but I would expect that we could go as high as 45-50. I always like to have a little bit of extra room on the charters for camera bags, etc. There is not a deadline but obviously the sooner the better. If we ever approach the cutoff point, I will let people know.

After being too lazy to mail my payment for the charter I finally got around to walking to my local mail box So now everything is taken care of and the payment is on its way!

It looks like the strike in Halifax may be ending soon. I was starting to get a little worried.

According to a reliable source, apparently the 9 NovaBus LFS suburban buses have been delivered for the MetroX service to the Airport. It is supposed to start in May (although a date has not been announced on the website) but we should be able to see and photograph the buses during the CTHF charter. They will at least look a little different in the MetroX paint scheme.

Nice! Hopefully the airport service is up and running by the time the charter takes place.

I booked my hotel already. Got an $80 USD bid on Priceline.com. With taxes it's $97 USD/night. It's the Best Western Plus Chocolate Lake. It almost sounds like a tasty place to stay. Haha #6 Quinpool & #22 Armdale provide regular service to that area (via Mumford Terminal)

Thanks I have too still looking into my hotel too , I already have my flight and charter covered, Im planning on booking when im back from Cancun, im off to Mexico in just over a week.

I have stayed at that hotel and it is very nice. Hopefully, you get a room with a view of Chocolate Lake. Be sure to say hi to Cocoa, a chocolate lab that is the mascot of the hotel and a very friendly dog.
