Just a thought...how many people would be interested in a possible Orion VI charter..if any are still around in September....I was thinking aSaturday either September 8, 15 or 22 2012....its a tentative date...can be pushed forward or back...im just curious on any interest...if enough interest then I will put some serious thought into it...my Peterborough charter went well so why not a HSR...

1st/2nd is TTS. 8th is Labour Day weekend, 15th is Windsor.

Think about it. September is gonna be a packed month for charters.
For those keeping track of the YRT repaints see THIS post.

It's still 1-2 years away before the mass retirement comes!
More and more transit system are sticking to LF because of economical issues! Where as HF, it will be a rare to see in much future times!

As of April 2009, I have finally rode Nova Classic T-drive, two types of different engine! Which ones is better? Series 50 all the way man!

2011 Charter: Able to manage to attend as there are some good ones to go for!

I'm interested. Either the Orion VI or one of the 9600 C40LF.

Actually, retirement is very close. With 41 XD40 buses expected to enter service in September, all 96, 98, 9900 series will be parked at the start of the Summer board period (last weekday Friday, June 22nd). There is a very good chance that none will return come September. HSR may hang onto a couple of the 98s just in case, but all 99s are scheduled to be retired.

Considering this, with all due respect, I would like to hijack this thread. I am considering an HSR 9600/9900 charter for Saturday, June 23rd. If no 9600s are available, then I would substitute a 98.

This will be a private charter run by myself (no TTS or CTHF affilation). Because it would be private, all proceeds from the charter would be donated to the Seashore Trolley Museum for the ongoing maintenance of ex-HSR 518203.

More details will be posted at a later date.

That's wonderful, supporting this 100%! I'll be there but depending upon the next board period.

An excellent idea. It'll be a day-to-day situation based on my family situation. However, if things manage to calm down by then, I'll be there!
