Those low floor trolleys are interesting...is there no big engine compartment taking up space inside the bus because its a trolley? Or did they come up with a design advancement that allows for the same design as an A330 or LFS but with seats all the way back on both sides?

The ones on route 109 are high floor model, the electronics are underneath the floor. The Armament trolley has its electric motor comparment all the way to the back of the bus, notice there is still a fairly large space behind the third door.

====================================================

Yet another two prototype trolleys have been spotted on September 13th, these two trolley are 12m rigid and 15m articulated models respectively, it is not clear yet who is the manufacturer, however fans have already nick named them as mask trolleys as their common frontal faces design resembles a facial mask of Peking Opera.

Here are two shots of mask trolleys:

Those last two trolleybuses are definitely manufactured by Huayu/Jinghua, although I'm not sure about the designation. There's also a similar-looking Jinghua BK6122EV electric bus that appears to have recently begun service.

As for the "China Armament" trolleybus -- I thought that was just a prototype model and that it was sitting inside the trolleybus facility near Fuchengmen. I definitely didn't know they were putting it in service. (And they need to remove the old "BEIJINGBUS" designation -- no buses have that anymore.)

(BTW, I have a webpage devoted to Beijing buses and trolleybuses -- link.)

Wholly molly, this is the most comprehensive fleet roster of Beijing I have ever seen. Are you from Beijing originally?

A man in his early 30s is stabbed to death on a local route 732 bus after fighting for a seat with another man, his heart is pierced.

Wow, of all the things to fight over, that's really unfortunate.

Here's a video of the 449 Beijing CNG Bus that I take regularly, but taken at night. Sorry for the slow posts, because I just came back from a five day holiday trip to Harbin, China. On the way back, I lost my pictures and all the pictures that I took when I was in Harbin, China. I have brought a new camera and it is the same one that I have lost in Harbin, China. Now I am back in Beijing, China.

Inside the 449 Bus sitting at the back of the bus looking forward. Note the seat to the right near the rear doors of the bus. That seat is for the onboard Ticket Seller.

Me sitting in the Ticket Seller seat, so good to have a reserved seat on a public bus besides the driver.

Posted Image

An articulated bus leaves the depot via the passenger bays.

Posted Image

The buses parked at the outside air depot mostly all CNG Buses, note the yellow reflective rectangles are the license plates of the buses parked.

Snapped a picture of a DF4D Locomotive.. if I am wrong can someone please correct me.

How old is that CNG bus? From your video it seems like it rides horribly as you can hear a lot of rattling and squeaking from the bus and the camera is shaking a lot. Also what's with the poor interior lighting?

Typical cheaply built Chinese transit bus would likely be the answer.

The logo on this bus seems to correspond to Hue Ching Cars Industrial Company (got this from pictures on World Bus Explorer). Don't know if this is accurate.

It appears to be a Jinghua BK6111CNG (the side nameplate of which is currently featured in my avatar), built between 1999 and 2002.

It's not a Neoplan, it appears to be a Huanghai DD6140S01. The only articulated Neoplan buses in Beijing that I know of are the JNP6180G vehicles confined to BRT Line 1.

I don`t get it, but I when I was inspecting the buses and listening how different the engines sound like to the buses we have here in Canada. I noticed that the rpm is higher than usual, but some of the buses that I have rode on are either standard transmission or the newer buses have automatic transmissions, they both have that higher rpm range when they switch gears. I`ve seen Detroit Allison Transmissons in one or two buses so far, but mated with a IVECO Diesel engine?

The exhaust pipe comes out from the bottom or the side of the bus, but I think the hole for the exhaust pipe is not big enough for all the gases to escape. I think it also gives the engine a lower horse power output, not sure why they didn`t design to have the exhaust pipe come out from the top of the buses and have a larger diameter exhaust pipe hole.

Many of Beijing's CNG buses have Cummins engines of some sort, by the way.

Continue from post #4. New trolleys have been spotted on road test yesterday. Nick named mask trolley, the frontal view of these new trolleys resembles a facial mask of Peking Opera. Unlike previously believed, the articulated version is 16m, not 15m. Interestingly the yellow sticker on the liscence plate says "Jinghua Saphire", which I like to interpret it more as "Saphire of Beijing", Saphire of Beijing was a model of trolley on display during a bus show several years ago, it looked quite drastically different from the current mask trolley, so I assume improvement has been made to the previous design. New trolleys have 100kW electric motors built by Zhuzhou Locomotives. Situated in Zhuzhou, Hunan Province, Zhuzhou Locomotives is a major electric locomotive manufacturer in China. Rigid (12m) trolleys have air-conditioning, the articulated version does not.

I have seen the 123 route bus, but where before? Can someone give me an idea where does this bus usually go to and from what part of Beijing. I`m pretty sure it could be a bus in the Wudaokou area (5th ring)
