  1. UTA has Detroit Diesel Series 40 engines on their 1999 Gillig LFs.
  2. I saw 791 today on Route 433. Will try to ride her tomorrow
  3. I was in Beretania and Bishop Street this morning and did see a few Phantoms there. Once more question, should I expect all Series 50 Phantoms are retired by now? Or will there be any chances on a weekday rush hours? Thank you.
  4. Dear all, I am in Honolulu this week, where would be the best spot to see most of the Phantoms in action. Thanks you all.
  5. Yes, I still do have the recordings of the Samtrans AN460 (9116 and 9127). I just need to dig out some of my older DVDs with the photos to make a video and upload to youtube. Youtube doesn't allow to upload mp3 only. As for Samtrans Gillig Phantoms, I have recordings for 900, 913, 927, 928, 965, and 972 before they were repowered from 6V92 to ISM.
  6. I have a sound clip of 1481, let me find a photo and then upload to Youtube.
  7. The 92's. Just like how the VTA 92's sounded similar to 93's M11.
  8. It's just the way how they sounded. Best were 2813, 2824, 2859 and 2860. After they had been repowered to Cummins ISMs, I would nominate 2816, 2842, 2844, 2854 that had the best sound. I believe 2842 was the first bus to be repowered.
  9. I do like the 1993 Gillig Phantoms with 6V92TA. They sounded better than their 1990 counterparts.
  10. Good thing to them that they find their new 2nd life
  11. Yes, AC Transit has only two buses with no rear windows, 4089 and 4090. What happened to their 29XX series, are they all sold to Disney?
  12. I do hope MTR ordered their E400 with Voith, but it seems transits in HK tend to like ZFs.
  13. The Dennis Dragons with L10 and Voith do sound the same as the Flxible Metros from 1986 to 1994. Even VTA repowered their L10 Flxibles to ISM, the sound doesn't change much.
