Any chance VIA will pickup some F40 Cabbage shells and convert them to working units using prime motors from the ones that were wrecked? Any P42's up for grabs from Amtrak?
I think you're more likely to see VIA buy the leased F59PH's or try to tack onto an order for MP36/40's. Might be more beneficial that trying to build a new loco in an old shell.

Nice paint scheme. Blends well in a trainset.

"If they hadn't ripped out the OVR and the CASO and the CN Orono Sub we wouldn't be having problems like this!!!1!"
... or the Newmarket Sub
... or the Havelock Sub
... or the Carleton Place Sub
... or the Mr. Sub(marine)
... or the Maynooth Sub

... ok, that last one may be a little bit of a stretch. :)

6458 and 6405 spotted at the Winnipeg shop ... must have been from the Togo, SK incident
Hope they're not damaged too much, otherwise VIA might have to start managing the fleet differently if they can't be repaired. I don't know what VIA's current numbers are for spare motive power, but it can't be overly high given how tight the purse strings seem to be these days.

I'm surprised to see that bridge is only single tracked. Considering almost the entire line is double tracked.
Not only single tracked over the bridge, but the bridge was only designed to be a single track (no extra wide piers or anything). It's also centred within the mains with a wye switch. Definitely a great example of short sightedness.

If CN ever caves and decides it's necessary to widen it, it won't be cheap!
