25 Waterloo-Mississauga is a route operated by GO Transit that serves between the University of Waterloo and Square One GO Bus Terminal in Ontario. At certain times, connections can be made at Milton GO Station to train services to Union Station. The rest of the time passengers have to take a connecting bus at Square One to Toronto. This is a daily service. It is part of the Milton series of GO Transit routes.
History
GO Transit service to Waterloo Region was officially introduced on May 08, 2009, for service to commence in Fall of 2009.
Route 25 was implemented during a board change period on October 31, 2009, and was met almost immediately with high passenger demand. More trips were added in 2010 which included the 25B branch, and in 2011, more trips were added for Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, which included the new 25C and 25D branches. The 25E branch was added in 2012 to facilitate projected increased demand in Kitchener, however it is currently not used. More trips were added on September 1, 2014 for Fridays and Sundays, which included a new 25F branch between University of Waterloo and York University.
Double decker buses were introduced to route 25 and its branches on September 2013. To facilitate the introduction of double decker buses, the stop at Kitchener Bus Terminal was moved outside on Charles St. due to clearance issues in the terminal. Following the completion of ION Light Rail and, "super-lo" double decker buses are being delivered to GO Transit, it rerouted back to Kitchener Bus Terminal in April 8, 2017. Since then, only Super-lo Double deckers and single-deckers are being used on branches that stopping Kitchener Bus Terminal.
