March 28, 2004 - Eastern extension to Markham-Stouffville Hospital, heading south at 9th Line. Buses will temporarily operate via Almira Avenue and Country Glen Road until Bur Oak Avenue connects to Church Street.

September 5, 2004 - In the west end, the on-street loop at Kennedy was replaced by an extension to Angus Glen Community Centre on Major Mackenzie Drive.

May 8, 2005 - Initially, service on this route was only during peak periods, but was expanded to include all day weekday and Saturday service.

January 1, 2006 - Service was rerouted east along White's Hill Avenue, south on Bur Oak Avenue, west on Riverlands Avenue to the hospital. Later, service was provided along Bur Oak Avenue between 9th Line and 16th Avenue, but a jog remained between 16th Avenue and White's Hill Avenue via 9th Line.

July 2, 2006 - Eastern routing around Markham-Stouffville Hospital via Riverlands Avenue and Country Glen Road is discontinued, with direct service to the hospital replaced via Bur Oak Avenue and Church Street.

January 28, 2007 - Eastern routing is adjusted to fully serve Bur Oak Avenue, with the jog between 16th Avenue and White's Hill Avenue via 9th Line discontinued.

November 16, 2008 - Limited service within the Cornell neighbourhood is introduced. On weekdays, one trip in each direction will divert via White's Hill Avenue, Cornell Rouge Boulevard, Morning Dove Drive, Old Markham By-Pass, and 16th Avenue to Bur Oak Avenue.

September 2, 2012 - One weekday morning and afternoon trip extended south from the hospital to serve the Grand Cornell community during school times.

April 19, 2015 - Route 18 was re-routed away from Major Mackenzie Drive. Buses now use Angus Glen Boulevard to reach Angus Glen Community Centre. School trips and diversions for Bur Oak Secondary School and Pierre Elliott Trudeau High School were replaced by route 402 as of the 2015-2016 school year.

January 2018 - The White's Hill Avenue limited service diversion was eliminated.

November 2, 2020 - Saturday service discontinued and weekday mid-day service replaced with On-Request service due to low ridership.

September 4, 2022 - With the opening of the Cornell Terminal, routing is adjusted to serve the terminal as the new eastern terminus. Direct service to the hospital via Church Street is discontinued.
