Duple Metsec
From CPTDB Wiki
Duple Metsec (formerly known as Metal Section) is a busbody builder located in the West Midlands, United Kingdom. It usually supplied body kits for assembly in the overseas.
Metal Section was acquired by Duple Coachbuilers Limited sometime in late 1970s. This company was later acquired by Mayflower Corporation in October 1998.
Duple Metsec’s factory was closed down after the creation of TransBus Interional in 2001. However, the production of its DM5000 body was transferred to Walter Alexander’s plant in Falkirk because Alexander did not build left hand-drive design and low-height design body. The production of Duple Metsec DM5000 body continued until 2002.
