Restyled rear design for EPA 2010

The ElDorado National E-Z Rider II BRT is a BRT-styled version of the EZ-Rider II/EZ-Rider II MAX. It was introduced at BusCon 2008 in Chicago, IL, USA.

Originally available with a single piece plug front door, a two-piece slide glide door was later made available. Debuting on YRT's order, a two piece windscreen was made available. The original rear of the E-Z Rider II had a smooth design with access doors for the engine and the accessories above it. More commonly the upper access door would have a rectangular grille with the destination sign under the lower right corner. For diesel-powered buses meeting the EPA 2010 standards, the rear was redesigned to accomodate the emissions systems. The top was raised up and sloped down to the rest of the body. The grille on the upper access door retained rectangular openings but instead of separated vertically into a grid, an arch shape raises up in the rectangle similar to the rear design of the ElDorado National Axess BRT. Under this door is a rectangular vent with the destination sign is beside it. The body around the thicker exhaust stack now protrudes in a cylindrical shape.

In March 2009, it was announced Big Blue Bus will purchase 10 30 foot gasoline-electric hybrid buses from ElDorado using Federal Economic Stimulus Funds.[1] These are the first hybrid E-Z Rider buses built, and were delivered in June 2010.
