Grand River Transit 21101-21115
Grand River Transit 21101-21115 are Nova Bus LFS built in 2011. These were the first buses ordered by GRT that are EPA 2010 compliant.
These buses originally had a dash between the year and the fleet number (eg: 21-101) when spotted at the Nova Bus plant. When delivered they had the dashes removed, therefore a noticeable space was left between the year and the fleet number. Eventually the spaces were removed at the exterior only by shifting the 21 portion further to the right, creating the current fleet number set.
Two somewhat noticeable physical differences between this order and the previous order is the extra slit on the radiator cap, and the backmost side windows are now tip-ins as well, which was rather redundant since GRT bolts all their windows regardless.
These units were originally ordered to be used solely as replacements. However, with numerous service additions beginning in September 2011 (including the introduction of route 201) and the delay in acquiring 3 hybrids for replacement and 19 diesel expansion units, no retirements were made upon 21101-21115 entering service.
