Mississauga Transit 1051-1072
Mississauga Transit 1051-1072 are New Flyer D60LFR buses built in 2010. Delivery was scheduled to commence in August 2010, but buses began to arrive in early July. Each unit of this 22 unit order costs $779,688.70.
The buses feature the style of roof arrangement that debuted on TheBus's 2010 DE60LFR- a roof fairing with an enclosure running to the rear. The buses are in the new "mi express" livery which consists of a blue front which makes its way along the side of the bus arching from behind the front wheels to the roof area near the end of the front section. The rear panel is also in blue. The rear destination sign is mounted on the top right of the rear instead of the usual middle as it would obstruct the white "mi WAY" logo on the rear.
The interior of the buses are highly appointed with passenger reading lamps, 120v outlets, and BRT-styled advertisement racks and stanchions. The buses feature the same 4ONE Aries passenger seats as the previous D60LFR order, but are trimmed in a new moquette (Holdsworth Fabrics CAA321 "Cream/blue sixties"). The driver's area has some changes from the previous D60LFR orders as well. There is a switch for the motorized safety roof vents, and the door master switch has been relocated closer to the operator. Acceleration and brake pedals can now be adjusted, and operators have a new HVAC control console. The number of seats are unchanged and are laidout exactly the same as Mississauga Transit 0851-0885.
These buses are equipped with three doors with a wheelchair ramp located at the front door. Rear exit doors are touch bar operated using Vapor's vTouch system. Passenger windows are mounted flush to the body on the exterior and are of the tip-in transom design. Ventilation, heating, and air conditioning are provided by two roof-mounted Thermo King units.
