Toronto Transit Commission 4700-4747 were 1947 Pullman Standard PCC A-13 class all-electric streetcars, built new for the Birmingham Electric Company in Birmingham, Alabama as cars #800-847. The TTC purchased this group of Birmingham PCC cars in 1952, and they were shipped by railway flatcar to the TTC's Hillcrest Shops during 1952-1953. There they were rebuilt to TTC standards for service in Toronto, repainted, and assigned new numbers, and first entered service in 1953. They were assigned to Roncesvalles.

This series, while in service in Birmingham, once had signage on some of the rear seats denoting seating for "colored" or for whites.

A group of 19 A-13 series 4700's (and 14 A-14 cars) were sold to the Southeast Pennsylvania Transit Authority (SEPTA) in 1976, who experienced a fire in one of their carhouses in 1975 and lost a portion of their own PCC fleet. The cars were transported by rail to Philadelphia PA where they were renumbered in the 2300-series. They weren't repainted, and remained in use in Philadelphia until 1981, and were later scrapped.

None of the secondhand A-13 cars were included in the TTC's PCC heavy rebuild program. By 1983 most of the fleet was retired, and the final car in service retired that year (4704).
