Ossington Station SmallAccessible.gif is a rapid transit stop and bus terminal owned and operated by the Toronto Transit Commission in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The station is located at 746 Ossington Avenue and the bus terminal stretches between Ossington Avenue and Concord Avenue, north of Bloor Street West.

History

Ossington Station opened to the public with the original segment of the Bloor-Danforth subway on February 26, 1966.

As part of the Easier Access Program, Ossington Station was made the TTC's 35th accessible station with the completion of construction in December 2016.[1] Improvements to the station include two new elevators providing barrier-free access between street and platform levels, accessible fare gates, automatic sliding doors, improved signage, and a new public art installation titled "Ossington Particles" by Scott Eunson.[2]

Station description

There are two entrances at Ossington Station: the main entrance building on the west side of Ossington Avenue, and an automatic entrance two blocks west on the east side of Delaware Avenue. Only the main entrance from Ossington Avenue is wheelchair accessible. Inside the main entrance is the collector's booth and fare gates. Beyond the fare-paid line is the bus terminal which features 5 bays and wraps around the north and south sides of the station building. At the Delaware Avenue automatic entrance, there is stair-only access directly to platform level. Connection to the 300 Bloor-Danforth and 363 Ossington night buses can be made at the stops just south of the station at the intersection of Ossington Avenue and Bloor Street West.

From street level, stairs, escalators, and elevators lead down to the underground concourse and the subway platform level. The subway platforms at Ossington Station are of the typical Bloor-Danforth style featuring white wall tiles and a red trim.
