Route Details
This route services Donlands Avenue, Millwood Road, Laird Drive, and Eglinton Avenue East. There is one southern terminal, which is Donlands Station. Northern terminals include Eglinton Station for 56, and Brentcliffe Road for 56B. Branch 56B loops clockwise via Eglinton Avenue East, Brencliffe Road, and Wicksteed Avenue. Branch 56B only operates during rush hours on weekdays.
History
- November 23, 2008 - Moved to shared operation between newly-opened Mount Dennis and Wilson Divisions.
- May 8, 2011 - Due to system-wide service cuts, service is removed after 10pm on weekdays and after 7pm on weekends.
- May 8, 2011 - Since route 5 is transferred to Wilson, service returns to being operated by Wilson at all times.
