The Alexander Dennis ALX400 is a 2-axle, low floor, double-decker bus body. The ALX400 could be fitted onto the Dennis (later TransBus International and Alexander Dennis) Trident, Volvo Buses B7TL, and DAF (later VDL) DB250 chassis.
The ALX400 was introduced by Walter Alexander Coachbuilders in 1997 to replace the R Series bodies. Production was continued by TransBus International in 2001 and carried to the end of 2006 with Alexander Dennis. The ALX400 was soon replaced by the new Alexander Dennis Enviro400, launched in 2005.
