Route Details

Route 5 is a mainline bus that provides service between western Barrie and downtown.
Branches
This route has 2 branches:
- 5A Edgehill - Westbound service which runs via downtown, Ross, Wellington, Anne, Edgehill, Pringle and Miller.
- 5B Wellington - Eastbound service which follows the reverse routing of 5A.
History

- August 17, 2013 - As part of a reorganization of Barrie Transit routes, route 5A/5B are introduced.
- August 25, 2019 - All service east of the Downtown Terminal to Napier and Penetanguishene is removed. Service will be partially covered by existing routes 8 and 100.
- June 6, 2021 - Route is modified to operate via Dunlop, Wellington, Sunnidale, Letitia, and Anne in both directions as a result of MTO construction on the Anne Street bridge over Highway 400. Free bus rides are offered on both ends of the Anne Street bridge for passengers travelling to the other side of the closure.
