511 Züm Steeles is a Züm bus rapid transit route operated by Brampton Transit.
Basic
Route 511 runs between Lisgar GO Station and Humber College North Campus, travelling on Steeles Ave. in Brampton and Finch Ave. in Toronto, before terminating at Humber College North Campus bus terminal. The Gateway Terminal replaced the nearby Shoppers World Terminal. Route 511A terminates at Brampton Gateway Terminal while the regular route 511 would continue on to Lisgar GO Station.
History
511 Züm Steeles was planned to commence service on September 4, 2012. However with delays in the opening of the new Brampton Gateway Terminal, service began on November 26, 2012 instead.
Before September 2015, 511 terminated on Humber College Blvd. Brampton Gateway Terminal
Vehicles
Route 511 is mainly run with New Flyer XDE40 buses due to the overall lower demand compared to the other Züm routes, although XDE60 buses are common during peak periods.
