The Conseil intermunicipal de transport Chambly-Richelieu-Carignan, branded Blus, was a public transit board providing service to the municipalities of Carignan, Chambly, Marieville, Richelieu, and Saint-Mathias-sur-Richelieu. The CITCRC was operated under contract by Transdev and managed by Société Gestrans. It was replaced in 2017 by exo Chambly-Richelieu-Carignan.

History

The Conseil intermunicipal de transport Chambly-Richelieu-Carignan (CITCRC) was created in 1984 alongside the other municipal transit councils (CITs) that were created to serve the municipalities surrounding the Greater Montreal area. The Commission de transport de la Rive-Sud de Montréal (STRSM) was awarded the contract to operate the CITCRC at its inception. In December 1991, the CITCRC entered into a new contract with private operator Autobus Viens.[2] Autobus Viens was acquired by Veolia Transportation in 2004. Veolia and Transdev merged in 2011 to form Veolia Transdev, later branded simply Transdev.

The initial municipalities served by the CITCRC were, as the name implies, Chambly, Richelieu, and Carignan. Iberville and area were served by the CIT d'Iberville until February 1988. In 1993, the city of St-Mathias-sur-Richelieu was added to the CITCRC's service area with a route connecting it to Montreal and Longueuil. In 1994, the city of Marieville received a route to Montreal.[2] CIT Rouville was taken over by CITCRC around 2005.

In October 2012, the CITCRC initiated the first major revision to its network since its inception. The changes included simplified routing; more routes that serve the local needs of Chambly, Richelieu, and Marieville; and improved service hours. A new identity was also launched, Blus, along with a new livery.

New legislation reorganizing public transit in the greater Montréal area came into effect on June 1, 2017, which replaced AMT with RTM. As part of the reorganization, CITCRC was replaced by exo Chambly-Richelieu-Carignan.
