Central Coast Area Transit or CCAT was the transit operator of San Luis Obispo County, California, which included the cities of Arroyo Grande, Atascadero, El Paso de Robles, Grover Beach, Morro Bay, Pismo Beach, and San Luis Obispo. It was operated by Laidlaw Transit Services, Inc.

History

CCAT was once part of San Luis Obispo Transit, which at the time was operated by the City & County of San Luis Obispo all as one agency. When the city & county split operations in the mid-1980's, the county ran Central Coast Area Transit (CCAT) as a separate agency. In 1988 or 1989, a contractual relationship with South County Area Transit (SCAT) was created for CCAT to manage SCAT's operations. The CCAT name was dropped circa 2003 upon its re-branding to San Luis Obispo Regional Transit Authority (RTA).
