Connecticut Department of Transportation 1001, 1621-1633, 1671-1675 were 1980 Budd SPV-2000 cars. They were referred to as "Constitution Liners".

History
In 1980, the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) ordered thirteen SPV-2000 diesel multiple units: twelve (988-999) were leased to Amtrak for service on the New Haven-Springfield route, with the thirteenth (50) used on the Danbury Branch route. Owing to poor mechanical reliability, the cars were withdrawn from Amtrak service in January 1986.
In 1994-95, eleven of the SPV-2000 units were demotored and rebuilt into coaches by Amtrak. These converted units were dubbed "Constitution Liners", and were placed into service on the Shore Line East route. They were withdrawn from service in 2006, following acquisition of Mafersa coaches 1701-1719, 1730-1774. The withdrawn coaches sat in storage until 2018, when they were sold off.
Details
Conference/Cab-control
One car was rebuilt as a conference car, with business-class seating and conference tables in one end, along with a control cab. It was used as the personal car for the Governor of Connecticut.
