The buses are owned and operated under contract by the Joliette division of Groupe Gaudreault. Les Autobus Gaudreault was awarded the contract in 1985 and began service on February 1, 1986.[1]

On November 9, 2001 the operating contract was transferred to Gaudreault's Lanau Bus subsidiary.

It was renamed Corporation de transport Joliette métropolitain in 2006.
