History

Anglo American Technical Corporation was established in 1974 in Vancouver, BC, and is family owned and operated. AATC originally operated a short lived shuttle service to San Francisco in the 1970s. Eventually, the business passed from father to son and was reborn as Cypress Coach Lines. In 2004, Cypress inaugurated a contract service providing transportation from the Vancouver area to Cypress Mountain in West Vancouver.

As of June 2020, Cypress operates the Bowen Island Express, a peak-hour commuter bus service planned by the Bowen Transportation Society and formerly operated by Bowen Island Community Transit between 2015 and 2020. It is an east-west, peak-hour, fixed-route express bus service running between Horseshoe Bay and Downtown Vancouver. The Bowen Island Express generally follows the same route as CMBC route 257, deviating in its use of motorcoaches and bypassing of Park Royal, Marine Drive and 15 St, entering and exiting Highway 1 via Taylor Way. The service's current schedule is designed to align with that of Cormorant Marine's water taxi service.[1]
