The Den Oudsten Bussen B86 was a line of transit and intercity buses available in Europe. The series consisted of two models: the B86 High Floor and B86 Low Floor.

B86 High Floor

It was a high-floor intercity bus based on various manufacturers' chassis.

B86 Low Floor

Years of manufacture 1987 to 1988
Length 40 feet
Width 98 inches
Height 110 inches

The B86 Low Floor was a re-designation of the B85 for 1987. Aside from designation, no differences have been noted between the two models. The B86 Low Floor served as the basis for the popular New Flyer Low Floor line of buses in North America, which would later be produced by Den Oudsten in the Netherlands to make use of excess factory capacity.[1]

Variants

Only a 40-foot variant of the B86 Low Floor was produced, unlike the B85 which was built in 36- and 40-foot variants.
