History
Order/Specifications
All units were delivered in March 2012, and were placed into service beginning in April 2012. Upon entering service, the remainder of the 2001 order (specifically 2107-2110 and 2112-2113) were retired.
This batch has largely the same specifications as the previous order. One minor revision is the placement of shorter stop request strips near the top up on the window pillars, instead of full-length ones found on previous orders.
The coaches were delivered with 57 seats. In an effort to expedite wheelchair loading, the row of seats beside the wheelchair access door was removed in 2013, lowering the seating capacity to 55. This row of seats had to slide forward on a track to make space for the wheelchair, however in past experience the track would frequently become clogged with debris and inhibit motion.
Refurbishment
Beginning in 2018, this series received their mid-life refurbishment as part of a two-year refurbishment contract. As part of the refurbishment, they were repainted into the new two-tone scheme.
Beginning in 2023, this series went through a second refurbishment, performed by Eastway Refurbishing as part of a three-year contract. This second refurbishment was meant to extend the lifespan of the fleet, as this series had exceeded its expected lifespan while replacements had yet to be ordered. As part of the refurbishment, buses received mechanical and body work, with some units receiving a ventilation fan in the emergency roof exit hatches.
