Ithaca Transit is a former public transit provider to the City of Ithaca, New York.
History
In 1976, Ithaca Transit began operating services that were previously ran by Community Transit System (which had operated since 1962).
In 1997, Ithaca Transit merged operations with the newly created Tompkins Consolidated Area Transit (TCAT), an amalgamation of four separate transit agencies in the Ithaca area into one unified agency. The other agencies involved were Tomtran and Cornell University Transit (CU Transit). Gadabout Transportation still maintains its separate identity. However, buses operate from the same Willow Street terminal as TCAT and use dispatchers from TCAT for paratransit services.
