History

Jefferson opened on November 16, 2008. It was the first station added onto an existing line, as well as the first station opened that was not part of the original 4 phases. It has only ever served Viva Blue.

The automated announcements for this station initially announced it as "Jefferson at Yonge" in both directions, instead of just the cross-street ("Jefferson Sideroad" in this case), similar to the naming conventions for automated announcements on York Region Transit buses.
