The John Deere Power Systems 6081H was a compressed natural gas (CNG) engine developed and manufactured by John Deere Power Systems for on-highway applications. Major applications included Blue Bird & Thomas Built Buses school buses, as well as ElDorado National, New Flyer, and Orion transit buses.

The engine was discontinued in December 2007 in conjunction with John Deere's departure from the on-highway market.

Construction

The 6081H features a cast iron alloy, non-siamese bore engine block, cast iron slab-style 2-valve cylinder heads, centrifugal-cast wet liner cylinder liners, chill hardened cast iron crankshaft & camshaft, forged steel alloy I-beam taper top connecting rods, and electronic throttle control.
