King Coal Tours
King Coal Tours was a charter motor coach operator based in Kulpmont, Pennsylvania. It was also previously known by the names Ashland-Shamokin Auto Bus Company and King Coal Trailways.[1]. The business is reported closed in January 2016, after the president of the company plead guilty to wire fraud for overbilling clients in November of 2015.[2] [3] Robert Elise and King Koal Tours were directed by court judge to make restitution between $400,000 and $500,000 to the Federal Transit Administration and Lower Anthracite Transportation System, a public transportation provider they were contracted to operate buses for. Mr. Elise passed away March 9, 2016 due to medical complications.[4]
