King County Metro RapidRide
RapidRide is King County Metro's brand of bus rapid transit. RapidRide features all-door boarding for those who have a valid transfer and those who tapped their ORCA cards at larger RapidRide stations with ORCA readers. To speed up service, stops are further apart.

G Line
The G Line will run from Downtown Seattle along the Madison corridor. It will use buses with doors on both sides, as some platforms will be on the left side. It is scheduled to open in 2024.
I Line
I Line will run from Renton to Auburn. I Line is meant to replace current metro route 169. It is scheduled to open in 2026.
R Line
The R line will run along Rainier Ave, replacing the current route 7.
J Line
The J Line will replace the current route 70, running from downtown Seattle to the U District. It is planned to open in 2027.
K Line
The K Line will run on the east side, between the Totem Lake Transit Center in Kirkland and the Eastgate Park and Ride in Bellevue, via downtown Bellevue.

RapidRide Roster
RapidRide has a dedicated fleet of buses in a red and yellow paint scheme. Standard local buses can be used on RapidRide routes, and RapidRide buses can be used on local routes if a base is short on buses.
