Route History

The 123 was created in September 2004, and was grouped with new routes 121, and 122.[2] It replaced the terminal of the local 136 and express route 137, during peak.

The route began running peak directional service from Highline College to Downtown via Burien from 5:30 AM to 7:30 AM and 3 PM to 5:30 PM. Frequencies were originally half-hourly.[3]

The existing local "shuttle", route 139, was deleted in September 2014 due to budget loss, and the 123 was the only alternative, only running during peak periods.[4]

When the Alaskan Way Viaduct closed, the route shifted from using that to 1st Ave.

The 123 was eventually suspended in March 2020 due to COVID, and remains suspended.[5] The newer local version, route 631 remained in service to replace coverage in the Gregory Heights area.
