20 Lake City / U District was a bus route operated by King County Metro in Seattle, Washington State.
Route Details
This north-south route runs between Lake City and the University District via Northgate Station and Green Lake. Service runs from 5:45 AM to 12 AM on weekdays and from 6 AM to 12 AM on weekends[1].
Westbound trips depart Brooklyn Avenue NE & NE Pacific Street north on Brooklyn Avenue NE, east on NE Campus Parkway, north on 15th Avenue NE, west on NE 43rd Street, north on 12th Avenue NE, west on NE 45th Street, north on Latona Avenue NE, north on 2nd Avenue NE, east on E Green Lake Way N, east on NE Ravenna Blvd, north on Woodlawn Avenue NE, north on 1st Avenue NE, west on N 80th Street, north on Wallingford Avenue N, east on N 92nd Street, north on College Way N, east through North Seattle College, east on N 92nd Street and north on 1st Avenue NE to Northgate Station. The route then heads east on NE 103rd Street, north on 5th Avenue NE, east on NE Northgate Way and north on Lake City Way NE to NE 130th Street.
Southbound trips depart 35th Avenue NE & NE 130th Street west on NE 130th Street, south on Lake City Way NE, west on NE Northgate Way, south on 5th Avenue NE and west on NE 103rd Street to Northgate Station. Trips then continue south on 1st Avenue NE, west on NE 92nd Street, west through North Seattle College, south on College Way N, west on N 92nd Street, south on Wallingford Avenue N, east on N 80th Street, south on 1st Avenue NE, south on Woodlawn Avenue NE, south on 4th Avenue NE, west on NE 65th Street, south on Latona Avenue NE, west on NE 50th Street, south on Thackery Pl NE, east on NE 45th Street and south on 15th Avenue NE to NE Pacific Street.

Route History
The 20 was created to replace the route 26X from Wallingford to Northgate, with the opening of Northgate Station.[2]
Later, in September 2023, due to lower than expected ridership and a driver shortage, the 20 was reduced to using only 40 foot buses and the routes frequencies were halved.
The 20 was deleted in September 2024, with the opening of Lynnwood Link, and the portion along Northgate Way was replaced by new route 61. The routing from Green Lake to U District Station was deleted, but routes 44 and 62 were recommended as an alternative.[3]
