Linq, formerly Golden Memories Transportation is a charter and tour operator based out of Rochester, New York.

In addition to charter and tour services, Linq operates campus shuttle services for Nazareth College, St. John Fisher College, Rochester Institute of Technology, Roberts Wesleyan College and Monroe Community College.[1]

History

Linq started as Golden Memories Transportation in 1994, as a limousine company. Over time, it grew into a popular tour operator with a mainly senior clientele.

When Lisa Olek and Bill Muratore purchased the business in 2013, they decided to make changes.

“Most of our work now is with colleges and the athletics in the area,” Muratore said. A good chunk of the business is transporting students from Rochester Institute of Technology and Monroe Community College to and from events, he said. A title switch became inevitable.

“The college kids brought up the name change from the get-go,” Olek said. “Kids at the colleges would complain about the name. People outside the area thought that we only dealt with people in nursing homes.”

So they came up with LINQ, a “catchy name” chosen to reflect the linking together of people. The new company logo is three intertwined hands to symbolize family, friends and diversity. Olek and Muratore like to talk about moving into the future, but first, we’ll take a look back at the company history.[2]
