Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority

Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority also known as WHEELS and LAVTA is the public transit service in the Tri-Valley Region (southeast Alameda County) of the San Francisco Bay Area in California. It serves the cities of Dublin, Pleasanton and Livermore in Alameda County and Pleasant Hill, San Ramon and Walnut Creek in Contra Costa County.

History

WHEELS/LAVTA was established in 1985 and began service in 1986 in Dublin & Pleasanton upon the discontinuation of the AC Transit service in the Tri-Valley area. Livermore's transit service was formerly ran by Rideo, which was operated by Laidlaw Transit starting around the 1970's. The service was taken over by WHEELS/LAVTA in June 1987.
