Route 24 provides service between the Talbot Village and Summerside neighbourhoods, serving Commissioners Road.

From Colonel Talbot Road and Southdale Road, eastbound buses operate east on Southdale Road, north on Tillmann Road, east and north on Cranbrook Road, east on Viscount Road, through Westmount Mall, north on Wonderland Road, east on Commissioners Road, north and east through Victoria Hospital, south on Western Counties Road, east on Commissioners Road, south on Meadowgate Boulevard, and east on Darnley Boulevard.

From Darnley Boulevard and Meadowgate Boulevard, westbound buses operate east on Darnley Boulevard, north on Lighthouse Road, west on Reardon Boulevard, north on Meadowgate Boulevard, west on Commissioners Road, north and east through Victoria Hospital, south on Western Counties Road, west on Commissioners Road, south on Wonderland Road, west on Viscount Road, through Westmount Mall, south and west on Cranbrook Road, south on Tillmann Road, west on Raleigh Boulevard, northwest on Tilbury Lane, southwest on Pomeroy Lane, west on Raleigh Boulevard, and north on Colonel Talbot Road to Southdale Road.

History

  • Route previously known as 24 Base Line.
  • circa December 2002 - Route designated as accessible.
  • September 5, 2004 to September 3, 2006 - Route temporarily detoured via the east service road around Victoria Hospital due to construction.
  • November 29, 2015 - Route extended to the Talbot Village neighbourhood via Cranbrook Road, Settlement Trail, and Colonel Talbot Road. Additionally, service east of Victoria Hospital to the Summerside neighbourhood removed. Weekday operations now operated by the Wonderland Garage.
  • September 4, 2016 - Use of route names discontinued; now referred to as route 24.
  • September 1, 2019 - Routing revised. Service within Talbot Village cut back to Raleigh Boulevard; service to Summerside reintroduced, following the routing of former route 16B; service along Base Line Road and Viscount Road removed, operating along Commissioners Road instead. Sunday service on the route additionally introduced, and weekday operations now shared with the Highbury Garage.
  • April 19, 2020 - Service temporarily reduced due to the COVID-19 pandemic; weekday service reduced to a Saturday schedule, and Saturday service reduced to a Sunday schedule. As a result, service starts approximately 2 hours later than usual (8 AM on weekdays; 10 AM on Saturdays), and evening service on weekdays is removed. Additionally, all operations are moved to the Highbury Garage.
  • September 28, 2020 - Service prior to 8 AM on weekdays reinstated.
  • November 29, 2020 - Evening service on weekdays additionally reinstated.
  • May 2, 2021 - Service prior to 10 AM on Saturdays reinstated.
  • September 5, 2021 - Service on Saturdays reduced to a Sunday schedule again.
  • May 1, 2022 - Service prior to 10 AM on Saturdays reinstated again.
  • September 3, 2023 - Early morning service on weekends introduced.
  • April 28, 2024 - One weekday run now operated by the Wonderland Garage.
