The Maschinenfabrik Augsburg-Nürnberg SG 310 was an articulated transit bus ("stadt gelenke") built from 1981 to 1988. It was available in 16.5 or 18 meter lengths with a horizontal diesel engine mounted under the floor in the front section.
After their partnership with AM General ended in 1979, MAN formed their United States division MAN Truck and Bus Corporation in 1980. They opened their own manufacturing facility in Cleveland, North Carolina and introduced the SG 310. It was similar to the MAN SG 220, but received a few changes to better suit the American market.[1][2]
