McCowan is a vivastation located at the intersection of Highway 7 and McCowan Road in Markham, ON. It was the northern terminus of the former Viva Green.

McCowan is near the Markville Mall hub, where connections to several GO and YRT routes can be made.

At approximately 1,080 passengers on an average weekday, McCowan was the 10th busiest transit passenger loading location in the YRT/Viva network according to the 2011 Transportation Fact Book. It has since fallen out of the top 10.

Eastbound:

• Located on Highway 7 just east of McCowan Road, the station consists of a full-sized shelter. Its stop number is 9751.

Westbound:

• Located on Highway 7 just west of McCowan Road, the station consists of a full-sized shelter. Its stop number is 9752.

History

McCowan opened on October 16, 2005 as part of Viva phase 2. It has only ever served Viva Purple and Viva Green. It was initially the terminus for both routes, until Viva Purple was extended east on January 27, 2008.
