The Mercedes-Benz Citaro, also known by the model code O530, is a 12-metre, low floor public transit bus. It was introduced in 1997 and replaced the O405 series. The Citaro is manufactured in Mannheim, Germany; Ligny-en-Barrois, France and Sámano, Spain.

The standard Citaro is fully low floor with the seats towards the rear on raised platforms. The bus is available in three different drivetrain layouts: a horizontal engine mounted longitudinally, ahorizontal engine mounted transversely, or a vertical engine mounted transversely. The latter two allow for a third door behind the rear wheels.

Compressed natural gas is an alternative fuel for the Citaro. In addition, a fuel cell powered Citaro, known as the Citaro BZ, was introduced in 2002. The second generation of the Citaro BZ made its debut in 2009 and is complimented by a hybrid-electric system.
