Mimico GO Station is a GO Transit train station located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is located east of Royal York Road between Judson Street and Cavell Avenue.
Two station platforms exist: one between the Willowbrook Yard lead track and the northern main track, and another on the south side of the southern main track. Both of these platforms connect via underground walkways to the station building north of the tracks. The parking lot stretches north-east from the station building with car access from an extension of Windsor Street and a set of stairs to the west that leads to Royal York Road.
Being located immediately east of Willowbrook Yard, Mimico often sees crew changes and equipment changes at the station. The northern track is often used by equipment running into the yard, with passengers having to cross the platform to a new service train on the south side.
History
Mimico is currently the only non-accessible station on GO Transit's network. It is also the only 10-car platform on the Lakeshore line, which often runs 12-car trains, but extension is not possible currently due to the existing track layout. Construction is planned in 2014 to extend the platforms and install elevators.
