The Motor Coach Industries MC-5 series were highway coaches produced from 1963-80. The Canadian version was named the MCC-5 and MCC-5A.

They featured two baggage doors on each side unlike the previous models and optional power steering.

267 were built in total. 266 were production units and one was a MCX-5 prototype.

Changes and improvents to the original MC-5 were made and were:

  • MC-5A (1964-70) - minor changes/improvements from the MC-5. (1548 built)
  • MC-5B (1971-77) - minor changes/improvements from the MC-5A. (350 built)
  • MC-5C (1978-80) - had a more modern front end similar to the MC-9. (380 built)
